I wish I were marketing this home
I have seen so many homes lose their intended character due to updating, that seeing the remodel done at 19 Belvedere Avenue, Belvedere, was refreshing, exciting and made me wish I were the lucky one to market that significant property. Mark Loustau, the property owner and broker, and architect Hank Bruce, have done a remarkable job of restoring this 50s structure. Located on the west side of Belvedere Island it offers unobstructed expansive bay views. It was designed by Henrik Bull, the great modernist of the 50s. Open floor plan, floor-to-ceiling windows, sliding doors opening to view decks, skylights are all the important features of the modernist indoor/outdoor lifestyle. At the property one can read a copy of the old Sunset Magazine, reminding us that Henrik Bull received a prize from the Magazine for that design, as well as a copy of “NorCalMod: Icons of Northern California Modernism” where it is mentioned. A house with such a pedigree will hopefully find the right buyer who will care about it as much as Loustau did when he took the responsibility of removing the disastrous 80s remodel.
